The Mets are notorious about this, and did it again today. I can never grasp the logic behind this, because it certainly isn't about a saving a pitcher's arm. K-Rod threw about a hundred pitches warming up in the long ass game against the Cards, and is finally brought into the game in the 19th inning and proomptly blows the lead (Mets did win in next inning). Is this done at the insistence of the closer himself? What other teams do this religiously?
