Home teams bring home the money on Sunday, going a respectable 12-3. I've noticed home teams do well on Sundays very often during the MLB season. I believe it happens quite often, please correct me if I am wrong.

    Probably just a fluke thing.

Sunday is also normally the final game of the series, which probably has more to do with it than the day of the week. A road team is more likely to "mail it in" when they are on their way out of town.

You are right, the getaway day numbers on sunday and the middle of the week are something to capitalize on. Also watch for teams who are home for the next series possibly catching a road weary team as well.

Home teams on Sundays are 1360-1068 since 2004 for +$5,445 when betting $100 per game for an ROI: +1.6%

Slight advantage but nothing to write home about

                    Thanks for sharing Solo.

Something that I've noticed is: the team that is on a 3+ (sometimes 1 or 2 or series) win streak playing on a Friday at home often loses to the team on the road who "needs a win." Needs a win = good team, but cold, or on a streak off a couple of upsets.

Therber never count out the desperate underdog! And as far as Sunday goes there is an inherent advantage. I try to stick with teams that have to travel a certain distance or less on monday for their next game or have a day off. For example yesterday I was on the rangers. They are going from Seattle to Oakland so that was in the range for a play on Sunday. Or the Yankees runline heading into a day off even with Hughes vs buehrle. But if a team has to go coast to coast it is an automatic excluder on Sunday or possibly a play against that team.

Today again Home teams dominate, going a solid 11-3, with 1 more tonight. I'm not sure how they did the past few Sundays since the opening of this thread, though.

Hmmm something to pay attention to. Home teams did pretty well last Sunday going 11-4. So that's two Sundays in a row home team won most of the games.

Is this assuming that the line for every game was -110 and -110?

Probably just a coincidence. Home teams are typically the favorites.

This year teams are performing quite well going 63-28 for $2,940 profit betting $100 per game on dogs/risking 100$ on favs for an ROI of +23.1%. If you break down the 6-year average by month you'll find that home teams on Sundays perform best in the month of April and in September. This month is quite the outlier so far so I doubt this trend will continue. June is historically a losing month. Last year home teams were 40-31 in the month of April for a profit of $50.
