Cy young ace can't throw a strike with no chance of being hurt by a 50 year old pitcher? Gets paid hundred mill to take a nice wet shit on his team. Well deserved Johan.

Sometimes it happens...what a horrible inning, esp. with 2 outs.

I think this moves me to 0-13 on sunday night baseball, all have been unspeakable losses and I think it's something to due with a Jon miller curse.

Everyone who posts here can throw a strike. The art of pitching is to throw a strike at a location and with a speed the hitter is not expecting.

Credit the crowd for Johan's collapse. They all stood up and cheered during Moyer's at-bat which threw him off.

The Phillies have a lineup that even Cy Young himself would have trouble throwing strikes to. For all the power they have in that lineup, they have equal, if not more, patience. So, if you're the pitcher, it's kind of like picking between the lesser of two evils..."Should I pitch away from them, give up some walks and singles? Or should I come right at them, strike a few out, and risk being taken yard?"

(Johan just had a rough night to be honest though. You know it was rough when Moyer gets on base.)

              Get em next time Cappin..

When I played the outfield, I could make a very good throw to home the catcher could handle effectively at least 90% of the time..................however, if I went to the mound, I would walk an average of 2.2 batters per inning.

                  Yes, throwing stikes is hard.

Lol good point. I play center and left in my school's intramural league, and that's true. If I could crow hop off the mound, I'd be able to pitch in AA at least, no doubt in my mind! Hahaha.

here's how I explained it to a friend who said throwing strikes is easy.

Get a Milk Crate from a local gorcery store- back 65 Feet away from it, now thow a ball into it on the fly -- not only that, but throw it as hard as you can --

Odds are most people here couldn't do that 40% of the time

he was overthinking that situation way too much. I mean, throw it down the middle even if you have to take a little off, its 49-yr old Moyer. He's either gonna whiff or hit some weak shit for sure.

What are you talking about? Moyer got a hit later in the game and is not a bad hitting pitcher
