when their typical starting pitcher's line goes like this:
5.1IP 8H 1R 5BB 3K 0HR
This team is a ticking hot potato pie steaming on thin ice

Nats will be back below .500 soon. No way pitchers like Livan Hernandez keep pitching this good for a long period of time. However, good to see some teams like the Nats and Padres off to a good start.

well so far livan has averaged 8.0 ip per start, and amassed an era and whip under 1.
obviously this trend is going to go up, those great numbers will average out, but they have a 15 year starting catcher in pudge. did that ever factor ino your thinking? Guy may diminish physically, but his understanding for the strategy of the game won't escape him.
Last year the nats on april 30 were 5-16. this is a major improvement. You can't tell me smarter managing and a field general had nothing to do with this turnaround.

Changes in the front office. Not a fan of the Nats but see all of their games. Team looks totally different now. And people are actually going to the games. But I have to agree with the numbers their pitching is not the best.

Everything will even out eventually. Nats still aren't going anywhere this season.

Ride the nats this year and you will be rich. They will make the playoffs and their rookie pitcher will be rookie of the year. The 100 mph flame thrower will be the future nolan ryan.

Maybe because the other teams starter has a worse line?
That line you posted shows me he gets in trouble, but gets out of it. Only 1 ER? That would give him a 1.76 ERA for the game. Not bad, even though his whip would be garbage (2.55WHIP I think?).

Your right, didn't say they were. High WHIPs will end up biting you in the ass. Just stating why they could be winning, as the OP was asking.

you just gotta slam down the pedal on the "action" button, brah. Really doesn't matter who's pitching for them. You're getting 2:1 regardless.

Pitchers are automatically listed. If you want "action" you have to select it. So if the pitchers are changed, you get action on the team.

only 20 games in the books, balls can take funny bounces sometimes. Nats stole at least 1 game in Chicago, and that final score tonight against Nolasco & the Fishies is pretty lol.
