Looking over tonight's games I'm actually leaning toward the Chicago White Sox over the Texas Rangers.
Currently at +131, Buehrle looks like a good value despite a slow start.
The Rangers are struggling vs left handed pitching, 1-6 and a .594 OPS so far this season, while the Hit-or-Miss White Sox are hitting better vs lefties than Righties (717 OPS vs 687OPS).
The Rangers Pen has pitched 15 2/3 innings over the last 4 days, there Close Nefalti Perez had pitched 3 of the last 4 games including 30 shaky pitches last night. And Frank Fransisco had pitched two straight. The Sox pen only tossed 6 innigs over the weekend and is coming off a day off.
For Burhle, he has traditonally been good vs the Rangers posting a 2.93 ERA in 104 IP and allowing just 4runs in 22.1 IP and KK/BB of 13/1 over the last three years. Even at Texas he is 4-1, 3.62 in 37.1 IP.
Rangers Starter CJ Wilson is off to an impressive start this year posting a 1.37 ERA in three starts vs Tor, NYY and Bos, but has benefited from a high LOB rate, 80%, and the luck of fly balls not finding the bleachers, 0% HR/Fly ball. Even still, last time CJ Wilson was a starter in 2005, it ended badly (12.05 ERA in 6 starts).
Chicago has struggled on the Road (2-5) including being swept by a woeful Cleveland team, and Texas despite 5-5 so far at home was very good in Texas last year (48-33).
Chicago Burned me a couple of times this year, and now scare me, despite my occasional man crush on Buehrle.
Chicago White Sox +131
