Do games start EXACTLY when scheduled?

I tried to place a bet on the Brewers at exactly 5:10 PST (the scheduled time) and it was too late by a couple seconds.

I made the mistake in thinking I had time, thinking they start a good 5 minutes late like NBA or NFL, but wtf, they seriously have the guy throw the pitch at 5:10 on the dot?

5Dimes usually doesn't close bets until the game actually starts, so I don't think it's their fault.

I've noticed at a couple books they close on the dot for MLB, while for nba , etc , you often could bet a little after the posted start time.
