FYI, Maholm had a 2.85 ERA against SF last season and Cain only allowed 1 ER in 16 innings vs. Pittsburgh. His last start against the Pirates: 9 IP, 3 hits, 0 runs.

Small sample sizes, but the numbers might be worth thinking about.
