Welcome to the SBR forum Steve

I actually beg to differ on your playoff comments. I feel that playoff hockey has much more drama in it.

I was asking myself that same question Steve. Barrett blocked the plate and Holliday was dazed and confused it seemed like. Yet the umpire called'um safe.

I think the ump was ready to call him out as long as Barrett had the ball, as soon as he saw the ball loose he called Holliday safe. Anyway its been a long day, Ill be sure to check in tomorrow, nite.

This also proves that one game playoffs are much more exciting than best of 7 series.

              I disagree sir.

Not when the series is going to a 7th game in triple overtime. I feel thats much more exciting.

I'm also a big hockey fan and sudden death quadruple OT is much more fun to watch than this.

And millions of fans would disagree with you, Dan. Casual baseball fans will make a point to watch Game 7 of a World Series or a single game playoff like last night's game. Casual hockey fans, well, there aren't any.

That was one helluva' way to kick off the MLB postseason last night. Great game, and the TBS broadcasting screw didn't screw it up too much

Does anyone realize that last night's game counts as a REGULAR SEASON game? All the stats counted toward regular season.

I'm very much aware of it, LT, and also have been against that idea for a loooooooong time now. I still think it was a great way to get the postseason underway

Holliday didn't even touch the plate; hard angle for the ump to see but he blew the call!
