Phil Hughes blew two fastballs by Alex Rodriguez during the first part of his live batting practice session Sunday, but when he tried to attack the third baseman in Round 2, he learned what it feels like to be victimized by A-Rod.
"He was setting me up," Hughes said. "Baiting me to throw him another fastball."
Rodriguez belted two balls off the outfield wall, but he remained impressed by what he saw from Hughes, who is competing with Joba Chamberlain for the No. 5 spot in the Yankees' rotation.
