Le' Amateur - MLB Grind 2010
Hi. First off I'm new to this forum, and posting. I read a thread from "On My Grind" and in that vein, I'd like to try to post some picks, very casually, really for my own reference, and see how it goes.

OMG (On My Grind) bets volume, many picks each day, I am kind of the opposite, I choose (what I deem to be) quality picks. My philosophy is "the more games you bet, the more you lose." So I try to pick 2-3 max / day and do a little online research.

Again see my name, you'll know that I don't take myself too seriously, but I just wanted to see what I can do in the long run (If I'm around long enough for the long run).

    So to start. Today 4/8/10

St Louis -123 (B. Penny vs. B. Arroyo - CIN)

Kansas City -118 (B. Bannister vs. D. Willis - DET)

I am from Michigan and have seen what DOntrelle has done since he's been a Tiger. I will list all of Dontrelle's accomplishments below:

    Thank you.

Well well, I hope nobody read my first ever post. I went 0 for 2. Lost $500.

I'll have to reload and try to get back with some patience. the season is young. Until tomorrow.

Today I'm going for mostly the home field advantage (and home openers)

      DET -165 (home opener)
      FLA +105 (home opener)
      COL -190 (home opener)
      PHI -165 (road) vs HOU

Nice rebound from 0-2 yesterday. went 3-1 today. with 100 on each, this leaves me down 100 overall after two days and an overall record of 3-3.

All right, some good pitching matchups today.

BOS -120 vs Kansas City (Beckett v. Grienke)
CHW +105 vs MIN (Garcia v. Baker)
LAA -165 vs. OAK (Weaver v. Sheets)

*The Number is not yet posted, however if it was, I would also pick the DET/CLE OVER* (Though I have not selected it yet, I plan on it. So let's assume the number is 9 or 9.5, and make it an official take.)

What you think of UNDER Sox/Royal 1st 5innings (Beckett v. Grienke)?
I also like Weaver got get Angles a win tonight.

Best of luck this season Le (are you Vietnamese?)

I am not vietnamese. I am on Bodog and do not have a number for KC/BOS 1st 5 innings. Do you have a number?

If I had to guess, I will assume it is at 4.5, give or take .5. I would probably say the under, both pitchers have a history of giving up very little, and both bullpens have been giving up runs. SO I would say Under on the 1st 5 innings if it's 4.5 or above.

My book has 1st 5innings at 3.5 with OVER -125. I still like under, but number is too low to play.
Let me know your thought on Angles.
Do you like Yanks with CC on the mount? I like Yanks but just don't like the fact of 68% of public on them and line drop to below 140 in some books from opening 145.

I went 2-2 yesterday, for an overall record of 5-5.

Today, there are a lot of great pitchers, and terrible ML odds, so I'm thinking of a couple of RL.

                  PHI -1.5 RL
                  SF Giants ML
                  NYM -1.5 (-125) RL
                  COL ML

Well looks like I am pretty consistent. Went 2-2 again yesterday. for an overall record of 7-7. Obviously this means I'm not up, but it could be worse I suppose.

WOW. I went 4 for 4 today. 1st winning day this season. Day one was 0 for 2 and then the following days in between were all .500.

So I'm pretty psyched. This betting or handicapping business is kind of wierd to me. I've never had a steady approach, and need to learn a lot more about it. I use the name "le amateur" for a reason, I'm just a shlub, guessing, but using what I deem to be as logic and reasoning, but sometimes what I think I know is B.S.

Anyway, 4 for 4 baby. back in the black and an overall record now of: 11-7 (.636)

                        anyone ride these games today?

have a good night, if anyone reads this.

well I know the Cubs are going to lose for sure now. NOTE TO SELF: NEVER EVER EVER choose the cubs. they are a horrible team, and are cursed and always will be horrible forever. they are especially terrible at home, where every other team in the league tends to have a better record. Only choose them if they are getting like +250 odds or higher. cos they never win or lose when they are supposed to.

Today's record: 1-2-1 (push on the MIN/BOS Under)

                              OVERALL: 13-10-1 (57%)

I tricked fate with my prior comments. Cubs rallied for 4 runs in bottom 8 to win by 1. they are still ridiculous and I am still never choosing them again. Mark my words.

                                Today's revised record: 2-1-1

                                Updated overall record: 14-9-1 (61%)
