"Thus far, no game in this year's ALCS has stayed Under the total. Look for that to change this evening in Game 6. Note that the Yankees are 17-4 Under if they had six or more extra base hits in their previous game. They'll face the Rangers Colby Lewis, who is 17-5 Under in night starts this season. Lewis' team is also 34-17 Under following a loss by four or more runs."

#13793"Good spot for the Bombers, who's offense finally woke up in Game 5. After struggling for much of this series, the Yankees offense was back to its old trick, getting production from Rodriguez, Cano, Posada and Granderson. This all spells trouble for tonight's starter Colby Lewis, who's looked great thus far in the postseason, but will face his toughest match up to date with a reinvigorated Yankees lineup.
Herein lies the biggest problem I have with Colby Lewis, because despite going 1-0 with an excellent 1.69 ERA in two playoff starts, he's not being priced that way tonight. Oddsmakers are essentially begging for Texas money by pricing Lewis at this number. We've seen his numbers compared to Phil Hughes, who got jacked up in Game 2 (7 runs on 10 hits in 4 innings)... So why give us a bargain price on the hotter starter?
We all expect Hughes to be better than he was in Game 2 (he can't really be worse). But I'll take it a step further, I expect he'll be much better, getting back to the form that won 18 games this regular season. He was fantastic against the Twins in the ALDS, and it doesn't hurt that his ERA is actually slightly lower on the road. Back by an offense that's finally showing some life, Hughes should get more than enough support to deliver the win. Given Texas's 1-3 record at home during the postseason, and their lack of "killer instinct" against the Rays (up 2-0, took it to 5 games), the Yankees are definitely the play here. Take the NY Yankees (Hughes) over Texas (Lewis) Friday."Comment -

"New York is on a 7-1-2 over clip their last 10 postseason road games, and with the added pressure on a couple of untested hurlers in Phil Hughes and Colby Lewis, I see the sticks making plenty of contact, and the scoreboard lighting up with enough crooked digits to take us over the total one more time."Comment -

#13795Most of us thought SF was going to wrap up their series against Philly last night. Doc lost his first game vs SF and won his second matchup vs the freak. Same scenario tonight. Hughes lost his first matchup vs the Rangers. Many people tonight like Texas to wrap it up. I really think Hughes will pitch a gem and keep the Yanks alive in the series. Let's not forget how dangerous the Yanks are in the post season. Yanks will prevail tonight.....Comment -

#13796I wasn't comparing Doc and Hughes. Hughes is going to have a much better game than his previous. He did win 18 games this year. JR nice synopsis of the game.Comment -

#13798Yup, the Giants sure are buried MT...Last night was their shot to close it out, Oswalt will seek redemtion from his relief appearance and bring his perfect record back to CBP & Cole will find the same redemtion Game 7. Like I always say about the Phils, it's never over till it's over.
told you this guy would show up if phils won.Comment -

#13800Both ny and phillies were down 3-1 but turned into their ace sabathia and halladay to extend the series.. I don't get why some people are putting Phil hughes in that same category.. Here's a thought, if they hit cc it will be easier to hit Phil hughes that they have demolished before..
If your thinking he can turn it up and his 2nd start, so why did cc still got hit on his 2nd start?
On the Yankees and rangers price.. The Yankees will be the Yankees, even if books put a big - on the Yankees they will still get action...

#13801I am actually a little confused on this total of 9 that is mildly juiced. It seems just like free money to take the over here. I see a Rangers win tonite...something like 9-6 type game.Comment -

#13803ALL of Yankees' switch hitters hit better from the left-side... Swisher is more powerful there, Jorgito the same thing. Berkman is WAAAAAAAY better from the left side. A-roids is actually better against righties this year also.
I think they won't let lewis walk away like the first time... same thing that happened to wilson.Comment -

#13806fucks is a paul on rangers? that means another loss, goddamnit.
My prophecy states that Rangers win in 6th game and Phillies choke in 7th game when everyone thinks they're about to do an epic comeback. Can't turn back on it, I'm all in Texas.Comment -
