hey guys i am going to add one play .. the Giants finish there series against the pirates today.. for a lot of reasons i like the pirates and the pirates +1.5.. but not enough to make a play on it.. however it will be one of the few games i can listen to while i drive to Los Angeles this afternoon ... I am taking Giants over 8.5

How do you pick your dogs? I use the Sagarin ratings offered at USA Today. Liriano is A8 on this list, while Huff is A6. If both pitchers are in the top 20, I would go with the under, if anything. I will not play an underdog if the team favored starts a pitcher in the top 20, and maybe up to 25. I'll also look at the B section as well, to see where a pitcher falls in that category, b/c they may not have enough innings pitched to qualify for the A list. I usually stay away from teams higher than +150 as well, but took the Rays at +162 the other versus a struggling Red Sox squad.

Also, If I like a dog, but the team they are playing has won 3 or more in a row, I don't play the dog, or if the dog has lost 3 or more in a row, I don't play them. Doesn't mean the dog won't win, but it's just a filter.
