G, any thoughts on what I wrote on the previous page? I was under the impression that in keeping this thread afloat we were posting what we thought were decent plays. Are we not doing that, essentially just posting Rev's fav play, and guessing what Rev's plays would be?

You're right. If we go with Pinny's opening lines, the Brewers are the fav play, although I have no idea why a team that is 4-14 at home is the biggest home favorite.

Here's my little contribution for the day:

Dodgers are starting a series against the Cubs tonight. Overall the pitching match-up looks fairly even, although Kershaw (La) has the edge over Dempster (Cubs)..but when looking at the last 3 pitched...Kershaw with a 0.81 ERA is head and shoulder's over Dempster's 5.40 ERA...the early ML @ Pinny is -101 LAD...so the juice is good.

Anyone else like this series?

Why not just use the opening lines here at SBR that way there is absolutely zero confusion... Instead of each person looking at five books!

That way the Fav system stays in tact...looks like according to sbr lines the brew crew opened higher than the reds ...

As far as the chases... someone should step forward such as JW cash or chase1, or someone who is onto something... I know there are a few winning with their own chases....everyone just throwing picks out unless just for discussion will make the thread way to confusing...

Whether the brew crew win tonight or not is not the question... What needed to be figured out was why the books did this?

Ok the glaring stat is>>>>> the brewers are 15-5 last 20 at home against the Astros...


Does that mean the Brewers will win? No...not necessarily...but they have had a strong advantage over the lowly astros...


Even with Oswalt on the mound tomorrow night(not tonight) the brew crew should not sweat that match up either...his success is limited..barely over .500 against the brewers...

The problem I see with this is that they change the opening numbers overnight, from what I've seen anyway. Can someone else confirm this? I know I've seen it happen on numerous occasions, so I assume it happens everyday. I just stopped using them for openers b/c of this assumed fact.

just go into line history and double check...click on line and see history at sbr odds...the brewers were the biggest fav on opener...

The opening lines if you choose to list pinny are above your edited version according to that would be correct...brew crew... I am playing them in a chase...but ML.. I do not use the fav system but might start.. I do like it a lot...

Yeah, I have just been using the LVSC opener. What is your opinion on their opening lines? Not trying to confuse anyone here, just trying to get opinions on the best source for openers, but I saw at LVSC that the Reds were -180 and the Brewers were -155.

One of Rev's plays is to go with the biggest favorite each day and play the -1RL.

Yeah, that is what I do too for the most part


However, we are trying to keep REV's FAV system going since that is the one we can do and know we are doing it the way he would. It was also his best one results wise.


So for the official FAV SYS plays we are basically going with the highest opening favorite, although there is a slight bit of room to choose another high favorite if needed because of matchups or whatever.
