Going into the Playoffs 07 :

This thread could be valuable as it is a true look of what can occur in the MLB postseason .
Once the first pitch is thrown you can throw the regualr season out the window .

Last year each playoff teams record going into the postseason :
Best :
Dodgers = 9 - 1 >> smacked in the head swept in 3 by Mets .
Padres = 8 - 2 > Cards dusted em off 3 - 1 off the bat . Peavy was a 0 .
Twins = 6 - 4 >> got smoked by the As in 3 game sweep right out the gate .

500 baseball:
Yanks = 5 - 5 >> greatest show on earth were shut down knocked off barely out the gate , just ask Joe Morgan , he was billing them as the greatest hitting lineup of all time . lol
Mets = 5 - 5 >> lost to Cards in 7 games . (had no Pedro in his prime) , had squat , had glavine , maine , trachsel , perez .

Cold :
Cards = 3 - 7 >> WON THE WORLD SERIES !!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 - 1 . No drama !
Tigers = 4 - 6 >> made it to the WS then got smoked in 5 .
As = 4 - 6 >> dusted off the Twinkies in 3 - 0 sweep out the gate .

This was last year yes , it just shows that you can throw all the reg season hot and cold thinking , how bad a team looked , the #s , all that out the window . >>> When the first pitch hits the catchers glove in the postseason it is basically anyones day .

Note :
The Cardinals were on a 7 game losing streak last sept and didnt snap it until sept 27th .
Who in their right mind had this team pegged to go on to win it all in 2006 ?
If you did and capitalized off it , you are my hero and a guru tag would apply for that time period .
What does this mean or how does it apply to the now ? 2007 ?
Maybe the same guru that had the Cards last year is in this forum and they can tell me .

I feel ya , it would be nice to always be able to play those teams that are in must win situations , but it just doesnt work like that as a whole .......

Funny how we say the AL is better than the NL all the time but yet the Cards won the WS last year .

Where are the brainpower super veterans here to shed some light on who the biggest candidate is to get swept in the 07 playoffs ?

A team (or teams) will not show up , who is it most likely this year to be 3 and out ?

I realize when a team is (hot) and they enter the postseason it can make someone put alot of value in them .

If you look at what occured last year up top in this thread starter , you will see that the hottest teams going into the playoffs got dusted off with the quickness .
WHY ?

Maybe the winning run took alot out of them ....so now they fold , other reasons you can add = >>>>>>>>> Will this relate to 2007 ?
