PICK: NYM -176(Got it last night, up to -201 now) Bacsik vs Humber, Mets have lost 5 straight at home and try to avoid the home sweep vs WASH here yet still find themselves up by 2 games over Philly in the NL East! Mets are in a MUST WIN spot here and give the ball to 24-year old phenom prospect Philip Humber who was the 3rd overall pick out of Rice! Humber was 11-9 4.27 ERA at AAA-New Orleans with 120 K's in 139 IP(3.80 ERA and .183 opp BA Last 8 starts after the break tho) Mets hit LHP well(.287) while WASH hits just .250 vs RHP! Bacsik has made just 5 starts since August 7th and has went just 22.2IP in those 5 starts(Pitched into the 6th just once) and allowed 23ER during that span including 5ER in 4 of the 5 starts! mets also show some faith and confidence in the kid by moving Pedro back a day until tommorrow to give him an extra day rest(Today was his normal slot in the rotation), and you know if they aren't going with Pedro in this big streak-stopper spot, that this kid is either really really good or something's wrong with Pedro(he's looked good to me since his return) and think this kid delivers a big win here for his brain-trust as Randolph said himself 'He could throw a gem in this game'!

I was thinking before I got here COL/ LAD as an over Pick but then i backed off . Fogg is effective on the road and the line is moving the way I like. And Totals these days especially at 8.5 are not as easy as they seem.
LAD is a cold team,, Rockies playing for a spot in the Fall Classic.
