Clemens will reportedly start Saturday's game against the Blue Jays. Spin: Clemens is making the spot start in place of Ian Kennedy, who is currently day-to-day with a strained upper back. Clemens was scheduled to pitch Sunday on six days rest until the Kennedy injury was announced. In Clemens' last start against the Blue Jays, he went six innings with one earned run, two hits and six strikeouts in arguably his best start of the season.

It looks like it's Hughes after all. I heard the same report Looker posted during the Yankee broadcast last night. Maybe they don't want to take a chance with Clemens on a soggy field?

Nothing to do with the weather. Torre announced Hughes as the starter after last night's game, not long after the Yanks indicated it would be Clemens replacing Kennedy.
Clemens goes tomorrow afternoon.

rjt721,
Thanks for the clarification. I was fast asleep even before last night's game ended. LOL
