"value", in my opnion, is a +180 underdog on a pre season game, when either team could win, and where the underdog actually could be carrying a better 4-5 man pitching lineup than the favorite for today's game. wondering if anyone agrees, based on that definition of value in this context.

I just looked into the game more in depth, I think your on to some thing with the Nat's in this spot. The one thing I don't like is the Javy is starting for the yanks and he just spent last year pitching aginst this line up (more or less). But hey its spring what the hell I might through .25 unit on the Nats here. Thanks for bringing it up and getting me to give it a second look.

Livan Hernandez, Clippard, Bergmann, Atilano, and Bruney are not better than as Javy Vazquez, Mariano Rivera, Damaso Marte, Logan, and Melancon. Livan has been one of the worst pitchers in baseball the last few years and the Nats bullpen is well, the Nats bullpen.

Yes "value" is diff. for everyone, but + 180 in a meaningless spring training is value for me , 1/2 a unit it is.
