unfortunately, better opportunities <> more winners for everybody.

IMO, people follow the bigger teams because they feel they have a better read on them (since they are on TV more and they see more highlights and read about them more). However, those teams are the ones that Vegas has the best read on because they are the most popular and probably most bet on. Like football, the more volume, the better read Vegas gets on the public perception and sharper the line. I think betting early, and not betting on the yankees, cubs, red sox, and other big teams like that should result in more profit (obviously, the occasional bet on these teams can be made, but I'd think that if a bettor loses money on those teams, they end up losing money in the long run, and shouldn't be betting at all..... <---- are the people who shouldn't be betting at all considered degen's?).
