The Yankess are road favs today because Wang has an era of 1.69giving up 4 runs in his last 3 starts . Wang also shut out the yanks through 7 inn his last start against them allowing only 1 hit , beating shhilling 5 - 0 in ny .
Conversely Becketts recent #s are not as good so just like in boxing they have to make the guy that knocked other guy out the fav . Hope that is clear now .
The starter matchup can go a long way in the determining the winner , the oddsmakers are not looking at it like you and I , which is from a more realistic take . They do not go BETWEEN THE LINES IN MAKING THE SIMPLE ASS LINE .

so you guys know >>> if the rsox starter for saturday shut out the yanks for 7 inn his last start and was a big name starter the rsox would not be dogs today .
oddsmakers see this and make the line by using common sense in a simple question with the #s and recent performance >>> if wang a # 1 starter for the yanks just blanked the rsox for no runs and 1 hit and has similar previous success against he rsox then we must make them the fav . While the beckett's # s are not even close to wangs since he gave up 4 runs 3 times against the yanks this year .
I hope this is not debatable , is quite simple .
Why does this matter ? because the line is hogwash and means nothing regarding who actually has the advantage or who will win this game .

beckett has also had better success this year away from home, and the red sox regular line-up is scattered with injuries, and gagne has been a bust since the sox picked him up, so i can easily see why the yanks are favored.

late gettin back to ya EJ, i did mean Beckett, he has had a few struggles at home , but has been pretty dominant on the road, and i hate the yankees, but i think they'll sweep Bos.
