MVP - A-rod?

if for some reason the yankees collapse and dont make the playoffs (sill a possibility considering the way the yankees have played against the devil rays and orioles) will A-Rod still win the mvp award for his remarkable season--- in other words- is it right for a player on a team who did not make the playoffs to win an mvp award?
Personally i think so- i mean who cares if a guy is the most valuable player on a team thats not gonna play in october-- the awards not for best stats so he even if his stats r good he wasnt "valuable" enough if his team couldnt maket he playoffs.

MVP's from non playoff teams have happenned in the past, and it should happen again this year, if by chance the yanks miss the playoffs.

Texas finished in last place the last time A-Rod won the MVP.

Yeah, I agree. Can't see how Alex Rodriguez doesn't win the AL MVP this season. Vladimir Guerrero and Magglio Ordoñez will get some nods, but just can't think of a reason NOT to vote A-Rod #1 in the AL.

Now in the NL, that's a whole 'nother beast. Can think of 5-6 guys who deserve some mention, so that vote could be an all-out battle with no clear-cut winner and open to debate the whole offseason.
