They changed the Pitts Pitcher to this game. It was originally Maholm but now Snell is listed as the SP.
If it was Maholm, I would have liked STL much more.
Pitts is 4-7 vs STL this year. The most recent series in early August had the Pirates winning 2 of 3 at Home vs the CArds.
But before that in April and MAy, they went 2-4. Snell and Gorzelanny were the only bright spots in those early April games.
April 9th, Snell had a great game going 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and allowing 1 run. He went against Looper who had a better game and the win. The following Week they played in Busch Stadium, where he continued to have a great game and this time getting the win (7IP, 3 hits, 1 Run) Reyes, who Pitched for STL had a decent game too going 5 Innings, 6Hits and 3 Runs
May saw Snell matched up with the Cards yet again but this time with his worst performance out of the 3. He went 6ip, 7 Hits, 4 Runs. K Wells went for STL outpitching Snell (7ip/ 5 Hits/ 2 Runs) Todays the re-match.
Snell has struggled recently on the Road not getting much Run Support in his last 4, with the exception of his last Road Game, where he got 8 playing at Houston. Ironically he got outpitched in that Game by Albers but the bullpen blew it for the 'Stros. If K Wells can pitch the way he did earlier in the year vs Pitts, they should win this (he himself hasnt got much run support in his last 4 of 5 games) But the Team as a whole is winning and that should have some merit. Pitt is still a bad Road team despite going 5-2 prior to getting swept by Milw. I see Mulder is back in the Rotation for Game 3. The Cards have a tough test in the next 4 series (at ARZ, at Cincy, Home to Cubs then Phi)
Think I'm going with the Cards.
Other games I like are Boston (i know laying too much there with -190) and liking the Brewers with Sheets vs Oswalt and Company.
