I wouldn't be surprised.. They are favored. As a Yankee fan I must say, not a huge fan of Girardi, but if he gets it done again god bless him.

See, but being a CUBS fan I am a HUGE fan of Girardi. He was an excellent catcher and he's a better coach than he gets credit for in NYY

It all comes down to performing in the postseason, they lost 2 really good clutch players in Damon and Matsui. Guys like Cano, Granderson, and Swisher need to step up on offense if they are to repeat. But yeah clearly they are the favorites.

They are a great team no doubt.....I think they take the AL but NL has great teams and with Holliday Phills will prolly ber right back in it...unless my Doyers can figure out some pitching.....

Rays could be a good team as well, if their pitching holds up

granderson is also a strikeout machine, I personally dont like a low OBP leading off a lineup. But defensively and speed-wise, huge improvement over Damon

I'd love to see a Yanks-Phillies rematch. Three-peating in the NL will be hard for Philadelphia, however.

Yes, it'll be tough because of the Sox and Rays but they definitely have 100 win talent.

I'll shit my pants in laughter lol! ok so granderson is gonna be a strikeout machine from the no. 2 spot, not a big change, except usually the slower player with a higher OBP bats here (as in Jeter). The Yankees will suffer from a championship hangover and not even make the playoofs this year. Look for Boston and Tampa Bay to return.

Jeter led off all last season, Damon hit second. Obviously it worked out great.

As for the No. 2 spot this year, it'll probably be Nick Johnson. Dude's an OBP machine who gets on roughly 40 percent of the time. You bat Jeter and him in front of the big guns A-Rod and Teixeira, and opposing pitchers are gonna be in major trouble.
