Good luck if you take this, but I cannot bet the under in any game started by Jose Contreras. 9 of 10 overs at home. If you hit this under, you are my personal hero kid!

Good luck with the under sonny.
I have a lean on the Royals if I can get plus money.

AS a starter...CONTRERAS has given up 47 Earned Runs in his last 39 innings pitched. I can't understand this pick...
You got Biff's Sports Almanac right?

No, I agree with this one, it's one of the stronger ones on the card IMO, although I took it at 9 (at not bad juice either).
Contreras has been terrible of course, and of course at one time he was a dominant starter. But he looks like he may be turning a corner on the season here. He's only given up 1 BB and 4 ER in 14 IP in his last 3 appearances, and I think he is likely to have a decent start here. KC probably won't challenge him too much, especially if they play some of their weaker players, which they may with Bannister going and it being a day game.
Then on the other side, Bannister is solid and steady and effective, and likely to have another good start, possibly a top-notch start. Even if Contreras gets hit, it is entirely possible that Bannister could give up 1 or 0 runs and keep the game under.
Both teams have solid pens, unlikley to push the game over if the scoring is modest when they get involved.
I think the under is quite a good play, although I must say, I like 9 with extra juice a lot more than 8.5.

I agree with the selection as well...Contreras has been pitching better....he still could give up 5 runs, but with KC's Bannister and pen keep the total under so I'm making a play on the under at 8 1/2.

Contreras has been pitching better. It seems like he is a better pitcher in the second half of the season. I like the Whitesox today. Good luck to all.
