    O's/Yanks Wednesday
    Interesting game.

+131 is a nice price for Bedard, the best pitcher in the league the last 6 weeks (6-0, 1.82 ERA last 7 starts). The O's have won each of Bedard's last 10 outings. It could also be argued that -138 is a relatively cheap price for a hot Yanks team playing at home with their most talented pitcher on the mound.

I'm thinking the under might be the best way to play this one.

    Any thoughts on this game?

Baltimore - Yankees is a great rivalry.

            Bedard is red hot.

            Orioles are hitting a ton.

Yankees have shown that big league pitching intimidates them. They beat up on little league pitchers, but major league pitchers do well.

            My money is on Bedard.

Normally, O's would be a no-brainer with the best pitcher in basbeball right now at this price. The reason I am passing on the game though is that Yanks usually bounce back well off of embarrassing losses like last night. In fact, they are 31-9 the following game the last 40 times they allowed 10 runs or more.

Still, there is no way I lay this price vs. Bedard either, so total pass for me.

                    bradley,

Although I don't necessarily disagree with you, the reason line is only -130 is Bedard would be a Cy Young favorite if he played for a more marquee team.

Baltimore going for 4th straight series win vs Yanks. They have owned Yanks this year and Bedard only given up 2 runs in 2 starts vs Yanks this year.

I would stay away from this game if I was leaning toward the Yanks. For some strange reason, the O's have the Yankees number this year. Hughes is a rookie, and you won't know which pitcher will show up.

I'm kind of leaning towards the Yankees as well, they didn't score a run yesterday and they were just killed...
However, Hughes might be bound for a bad game.
