I say get your money down before the line moves. Oswalt in his last five games has given up 0-1-0-1-0 earned runs. The dodgers have scored 10 runs in the last 7 games.
I like the Astros in this game and I like the UNDER

The way it works >>> it doesnt matter what oswalt does if his team doesnt score runs which has been CLASSIC ASTRO PERFORMANCE ALOT . The pitching matchup seems to always be the big thing to jump out at you first , and is of course like a home team in nba in importance in our mind but so many times the starters performance is wasted because of a lack of run support OR omg the bullpen esp Lidge (are you kidding me ) back a team with that guy comin out to finish the game ? Now ? Not neccessarily saying this will factor in this calif game but applies alot soooooooo . My feelings : the dodgers are still in the aint no joke category .

I feel ya , if it was just wagering on the starters I would take Oswalt . I dont like taking a mediocre team that is playing far away from home for one thing , is just me maybe , have sometimes of course but also I always look back and say if I eliminated these teams JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE ON THE ROAD the result would be parlays good instead of Xed , time after time after time , but that is more in nba really , still I do not like having away as much as the home team as I am sure you feel the same . If we put it in terms of my team was playing your team and we were both really good , say we are kids again in the neighborhood , if anyone asked us who would win we would say whoever has last at bat will probably win . Well , will this have anything to do with an aug mon night game in calif ? Probably not .

The LV Hilton has them at +105.
If you like them IMG, jump on them as soon as you can. I am sure that line will move against you tomorrow.

I can understand what your saying. I played the Dodgers twice in the last 2 weeks, all I got was runners left on base. It's tough for me to bet on them the way they have been playing....I haven't decided, but it's either tonight or not at all on Houston, the price may be worse tomorrow.

What's so difficult to understand about this line? I actually think the Dodgers should be around -120.
Oswalt hasn't been particularly sharp much of the year, and he's been terrible on the road: 4-5, 5.52, 1.61, .300. Billingsley's going to be a star, and although he's not in Oswalt's class just yet, he's outpitched him this season. Billingsley dominated the Stros three weeks ago in Houston, taking a shutout into the 9th before allowing 2 meaningless runs. As bad as the Dodgers are playing right now, they still have a significantly better offense than the Astros, who don't hit at all away from Minute Maid.
In a game that figures to be close and low-scoring, LA's bullpen advantage may also play a prominent role. Who would you rather have on your side in a close game in the late innings - Saito, Broxton, Beimel and co., or Lidge, Qualls and Miller?
I like the Dodgers in this one.

Oh yeah all day lean would have to be dodgers for me , I dont understand why a big name pitcher popping up has so much persuasion but it always does with FIRST INSTINCT TO SIMPLE EYE TO BRAIN TO PAGE CONTACT SENDING SIGNALS TO THE BRAIN. Like in word assocaition . The Astros were the bomb in 2nd half 2 yrs ago and went on to get swept by the W-Sox in the series , they couldnt score for the life of them and it hurt me . They were a great home team too , not on the road , this doesnt help I know was just thinking about what a shi# team they are to ride with .

Seems like the Dodgers have trouble hitting mediocre pitching lately. Reyes (2-11) had no problem tonight. Roy could give up 2 or 3 and they could still blow it.

I believe Oswalt has turned it around and the Dodgers are going backwards.. Dodgers offense isn't better than anyones now.

Yeah they have been doing awful and why would that change on a mon night one day back home from stl , going with a team that is losing trying to cash with them that game when they break losing ways is theory that is not smart overall >>> is chasing . I just lean with Dodgers because of all I said thus far . Is a very tough one no doubt .

img,
check these batting avg's vs Oswalt:
Kent .571
Furcal .375
Nomar .444 (2 homers)
Gonzo .316
Lieberthal .500
R. Martinez .333
Pierre .290
Not a huge amount of AB's, but not too shabby nevertheless.
Houston sucks on the road, this we know (20-38).
But, as we all know, LA offense is cold.
IMO, by now, most bettors are finally off the Dodgers and afraid to play them. Throw in the fact that they are facing Oswalt, and it's even tougher to play them. Based on this I would expect the line to move toward Houston. If it does it's a no play for me. If though, it moves significantly toward Dodgers tomorrow, then I may take the Dodgers. IMO, only sharp movement will move this line toward LA. Just my 2 cents at this point.

This line is right where it should be, as this game is a toss up and is in LA. If the Dodgers were hitting ANYTHING right now, they would be an easy call, but then again, if that was the case, they would also be around -120.
Sure Oswalt has been great his last four starts, but two were at home and the two road starts were at Florida and Pittsburgh, two of the worst home teams in basbeball. The fact remains that Billingsley has the better YTD numbers, and the FAR superior home/away splits. Also, the bullpens are not even close.
But the Dodgers are obvioulsy not hitting right now, so I can't lay any odds with them. By the same token, +100 is not enough for me to take Houston either, as this could very well be a 1-1 game in the late innings, which would a big advantage for LA.
So like I said, this line is dead on and not out of whack at all. The best way to bet this game is probably the UNDER, and I would even play Under 7 at nice + odds, which will probably be available at 5 Dimes.
