Fausto Carmona has put together a very surprising and successful season for the Indians, and he hasn't been any hotter than he is right now. His last 4 starts:
-vs. TEX (7IP, 2ER)
-vs. BOS (8IP, 0ER)
-@ TEX (8IP, 0ER)
-vs. KC (7IP, 2ER)
Carmona has faced the Twins twice this year, going 2-0 with a 1.11 ERA, including a complete game, 4 hit shutout. He has a 2.96 ERA on the road this season and is 8-0 with a 1.98 ERA in day games. Minnesota as a team is hitting .247 over the last 7 days and have lost 2 of their last 3, including having Santana beat at home. Mauer, Morneau and Hunter are a combined 6-27 (.222) off of Carmona.
Scott Baker has had a decent season, but has a higher ERA at home than away and has a 10.05 ERA in 3 day games. Travis Hafner (6-11, 3 HR), Grady Sizemore (7-13), Casey Blake (4-10) and Jhonny Peralta (4-14, 2 2B, HR) have all had success in their career off of Baker.
With both DET and MIN playing poorly, Cleveland is now in first place and is playing with confidence. They should be able to rally behind Carmona today and put the Twins away early.
Also strongly considering the UNDER in this game. Looking to go 6-0 on "LUNT's Pick Of The Night." All feedback is appreciated. Good luck!
