And if they don't have a chance of winning the division by 1/3 of the way through the year they will load up on prospects again.

Read something the other day that the A's had the most blown saves last year...........(?)

If so, they may be a good FirstFive to go with this year.

I would have thought the Rangers had the most blown saves last year by recollection

I would be surprised if the A's finished above .500 this year.

i followed one of their pitchers last year from the beginning. I had the mlb.tv package and had access to every game. He caught my eye early on and I expected a lot out of him and he showed flashes of greatness but couldn't put it together. He has great potential and I will be watching him closely again this year. Another sleeper out of the AL West is Doug Fister for the Mariners.

Sheets is going to be very solid out there in Oakland...paid a little much for him but going to be worth it...great young staff

Interesting, I didn't know that. Watching them every night, I can't remember them blowing a massive amount of games...

not really. The guy strikes out way too much. I wish him the best though. He was a standup guy here in SD

If the young pitching matures and Sheets has a good year you never know.
