1* Mariners +121: Mostly a situational play. Good spot to fade the Halos following the Tigers sweep. The Angels are just a .500 team on the road, while the M's have been particularly tough at home. Escobar has a 4.44 career ERA at Safeco, and while Miguel Batista's nothing special, when he keeps his sinker down he can be quite effective.
1* Twins -117: Gil Meche is often described as a great signing by the Royals, and while that's largely true, he's far from a special pitcher. He's still a guy with a career 4.52 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. Scott Baker's a capable young pitcher who's numbers this year are comparable to Meche (Baker's WHIP - 1.33/Meche - 1.29). KC is certainly improving, but they're still a last place team that's inferior to Minnesota in all aspects.
Also played the A's +111 this afternoon with Blanton and Rogers listed, but with Rogers now headed to the DL the play is voided.
