When to place bets? Minutes to game time, I mean
I am wondering if everyone sees the same movement in odds that I see on the sportsbook I use.

For favorites, the odds decrease after being posted, so the best time to bet the favorites is as soon as they are posted. This isn't 100% the case, some very small favorites move the other way, and games where both teams are small favorites, both may move in any direction.

For dogs, the odds increase after being posted, and sometimes increase a lot right before the game starts. I always wait till the last minute to bet dogs. Once in a while a small dog will move toward Even or being a favorite, but this is a good rule to follow.

I am wondering about Runlines. If the team is a favorite and you bet the -1 1/2 RL, is it better to bet when the line opens or wait until a few minutes before game time? Do the -1 1/2 RL odds move similar to the big dog odds? Or, do they move similar to the favorite odds?

I usually try to bet about 30 minutes before game time. Unless I see a dog going down, then I hit it.

But sometimes I have no choice but to bet early. Like today, I had to bet the Reds at about 10AM my time because my wife had to go to work and I can't take the boy to the book with me.

    Damn I miss Pinnacle.

It all depends on the game and the specific teams involved. You just have to know what the general public overvalues, i.e. starting pitchers, etc.

But how do runlines behave? If you take a favorite at -1 1/2 you will end up with + odds. Do these plus odds behave like underdog odds, getting higher as game time approaches? Or, do they follow the ML odds for the favorite?
