Anyone know how good the SBR handicappers for the free picks are? I know big Al has a good rep.

I used to read the better known handicappers a bit, although now I don't much at all, so my impressions are from a few years ago, but I recall Big Al being very good with football and I think basketball as well, but notably poor with baseball. I did enjoy reading his writeups in football and basketball, and found them to be often insightful. His baseball stuff though, I was always quite surprised at some key stuff he missed.
I remember that Big Al was a big user of "systems", with filters, and that sort of thing is particularly treacherous in baseball, and from what I recall, more useful in sports with spreads. I remember reading his writeups and thinking that in general, he provided valuable insights into sports with spreads, particularly football, but that he was really missing the boat with baseball.Comment
