FYI, I am in contact with people from Germany at least twice a week and we get along well enough that I could drop in (visit) without any problems between us. good job to TA finally speaking up about these german avatars. I pm'd a popular person here at SBR not too long ago about his germn avatar, and all i got was a history lesson on the specific person...and then a, "and i dont like jews..."

who cares whether the specific person was a "good" nazi...lets remember what the symbol stood for and move on. why do we need these hate symbols in a forum about baseball?

For the record: I am not a Nazi nor am I anti-semitic...I , as I stated (twice)....in this thread,I am..a student of military history...Let me pose this question to the "silent' out there....Is the Nazi one who posts pictures of soldiers, or the ones who are trying to "denounce" freedom of expression....in public forums....and using it as a "stump" was not that what the Nazi regime was all about....???Divulging private messages between another poster to slander him as well....as another stated...'a avater is a representation of oneself ?????? If i post a picture of Chopin...does that make me a pianist ?? if i post a picture of Charles Manson...does that make me a serial murderer ???....everyone has different tastes....people have died to protect these freedoms....so again i ask ..who are the real' repressor's here......the mods had no problem with it....these individuals lack the dignity of discussing this in private.....would you want them as a "boss" in the workplace ???? classless and clueless...

As a Jew I do think that pic has no place here like other pics, and all you guys should do is just try to avoid that. Any image relating to nazi germany, however, is a symbol of a fvckload of pain, suffering and the death of family and friends for a lot of people. It brings out the most raw of negative emotions and, as a supposed student of history, you should know that. I understand and respect that and most others seem to as well.

I apologize for being insensitive...lots of atrocities happen in History.......the main issue for me is these individuals ( not using the private message option) yourselves included...(they) not me dragged this issue into the thread as a "public forum" for an agenda.......to attack.....".he who is without sin cast the first stone"....these soldiers were 'brilliant tacticians and strategists" on the battlefield....nothing more nothing less. trust me , I do not need attention
