Anyways, about the gulf. You mentioned lighting a match. A lot of the oil can be burnt and is; however, far too slowly. The rest that can't (coagulated oil) needs to be cleaned up. I saw some farmers demonstrating some lousy discard hay being able to soak up the oil nicely.
As for's I have a dumb question myself...or is it dumb? Problem seems/seemed to be plugging or capping the hole. Well what about the tried and true implosion methods that we've used for a century? Day 1 I was wondering this, and I still am. Maybe I'm missed something, but why haven't we blasted the hel| out of the area to stop the leak? Again, its how we've done it for over 100 years. 
Anyway, this mess needs to be fixed up. I see a number of proposed solutions and not a lot of action. Seems odd to me.
Hay works and then can be burnt as well from what I was told. This is not complicated, plug the hole, burn it off and clean up the mess. So much money has been lost be those depending on the Gulf for their livelihood it sickens me.
Hope that 700watter will have the kinks worked out soon and then go into mass production.
