While the White Sox are coming off a good road trip record-wise, let's not forget they played Tampa Bay and Kansas City, and only managed 7 runs in their last 3 games combined. Baltimore on the other hand, has been swinging the bats well in their last 3, scoring 17 runs, including knocking up Kelvim Escobar for 7 runs in 3 1/3. Last night, Scott Podsednik got injured again, which means that Chicago is going to have to replace him with backup CF Jerry Owens, who in 53 ABs this season is batting .170. The pitching match up tonight is Erik Bedard vs. Mark Buehrle. While Baltimore is 6th in the American League against lefties batting a hefty .280, the Sox have struggled all season, batting .229 putting them LAST in Major League Baseball. Although Jermaine Dye will likely make his return to the Chicago lineup tonight, he hasn't played in 10 days, and going against the MLB strikeout leader in Bedard, his timing will certainly be off and he should be off balance all night. Chicago's only surging bat is Paul Konerko, who is 3-for-13 lifetime off Bedard.
Take Baltimore on the ML. Good luck!
