Orioles with Burres +125 to surprise Angels

Brian Burress has been very consistent this year while the health of Bartolo Colon is still in question, so fly with the Orioles as a home dog.

This game is a tale of two starting pitchers, and we feel that Brian Burres of the underdog Baltimore Orioles has a substantial edge over Bartolo Colon and the Los Angeles Angels right now.

Sure Colon allowed just two runs and seven hits in six innings in his last start, but that came vs. the light-hitting Pittsburgh Pirates of the inferior National League. Even if we include that one good start, Colon still has a dreadful 8.54 ERA and 1.96 WHIP over his last six outings. Colon has been suffering from tendonitis, and we are still not convinced that he is fully healthy.

On the flip side, Burress has been a model of consistency, and he deserves a better fate than a 3-2 record given his excellent 3.36 ERA. Burress has allowed three runs or less in seven of his nine starts this season, including a 6-2 victory over these Angels in Anaheim where he allowed one run and only three hits.

We feel that Burress gives the Orioles value as a home underdog here, especially with the questionable health of Colon.

I like the over and the Angels RL a little bit. If I had to take Baltimore I'd much rather have them on the 5-inning line. But in general I like the Angels here. Colon is having problems for sure, but so is the Baltimore pen, and the Angels have a good pen, a solid lineup, and they're winning in general.

I agree HG. I need Colon to get roughed up good in the early innings. I hate to have this one decided by the pens. Big advantage to the Halos there.

I just went with burres over colon. It was too enticing to pass up. Let's hope we do well.

I gotta agree 100% in regards to the over 9.5 tonight. If it goes as I project it, the pens should see a lot of innings tonight.

It's good that baltimore is keeping the angels in check. But we need some runs to cushion our crappy bullpen
