There haven't been too many sides lately that have really just jumped out at me besides the occassional dog play. Totals-wise though I have seen alot of nice plays lately. And yes, generally I am an OVER guy. But I pick and choose my spots. Here's my thoughts for tonight. Chime in.
MIL-MIN OVER 9 (-105)
Dave Bush is pitching napalm on the road. The totals in his road starts this season: 7,16,11,14,14,15. Boof Bonser's last 4 home totals: 9,11,20,11. Genrally, Boof is the recipient of some of the best run support in baseball. In his last 10 starts, the Twins have scored 3 or less just 3 times. The other 7 games a whopping 58 runs. Really the only question should be will Boof Bonser serve up enough runs for the Brewers to contribute to the total?
SEA-HOU OVER 9.5 (-105)
Baek for Seattle is another pitcher whose games tend to find the # of runs at 9 or more. In his last 10 starts, the total has been under 9 just three times. On the road in that span, the totals have been 15,10,7,11,26,9. The plus is that his team is the one contributing many of those runs averaging 8 runs per game in those road starts. On the other side is Woody Williams. Woody's games have also tended to find the higher #s. 5 of his last 6 starts have gone into double digits with El Woodrow giving up 4 earned runs or more in 4 of those 6.
DET-PHI OVER 10.5 (-120)
You've got Andrew Miller making his first road start and Jamie Moyer coming off the worst start of the year. The Tigers have been killing lefties all year. In Miller's two starts at Comerica, the Tigers averaged 14.5 runs per game. Throw in last night's combined 20 runs, the Phils finding their stroke on offense and a slight breeze scheduled to blow out toward center and I think 11 runs or more is a distinct possibility.
