What's up with the Boston lineup? Poll for the SF series
5 runs in 3 games vs Colorado?? Francis is good, sure. But Cook? Well he's ok I guess. And Fogg?? I think maybe Colorado sneaked in some humidor balls into Fenway.

Against SF, we have Cain, Zito, and Morris. Certainly a better trio than Colorado's. And SF also has that Brad Hennessey-led pen.

How many do you think Boston will score in this series? I'll say, I don't know, I'll say 14. I think they'll come back a bit.

The winner will get a free flat-screen monitor from RickySteve.

If RickySteve himself enters and wins, he will get a free 2 weeks of access to LT Profit's for-pay picks.

I really don't know what to think of this series Mr.HG. I do know if they put J.D. Drew in the lead-off spot again though it sure won't help there chances at all. The one thing we do know is Zito's history against Boston, and that should help us capping tomorrows matchup a bit.

The Red Sox are due for an explosion. Tonight they had countless innings where they had RISP and didn't do dick. One inning they had the sacks juiced and NO OUTS and got NOTHING. I'd say they get to Zito tomorrow.

I like the Red Sox quite a bit tomorrow. Zito has been inconsistent all year, in the weak-hitting NL West no less. Now he faces a Boston team that repeatedly had great success against him during his time in the AL. The lead-off spot is a concern for the Sox, and as BBD says, Drew likely isn't the solution, although he does get on base. The 8-9 spots are dreadful right now with Crisp and Lugo not producing at all, but the middle of the lineup, namely Ortiz, Manny, Youk and Lowell have all been relatively consistent. Tavarez has been adequate, mostly pitching against the opposing team's ace. Matched up against the weakest lineup he has seen all season, I expect Tavarez to pitch well.

OK. I'll be the voice of dissention. I like the Giants in all 3 games depending upon if the lines are still inflated. I like Zito and Cain best. Morris may deflate the number a little bit and we'll see how that works out.

The Giants haven't hit well. This is true. But the anemic production against the Rockies by the Red Sox has to be sounding some alarms. What in the world is going on in Red Sox Nation? You have to score runs in order to win baseball games.

I really like the giants in this series. Being that few of them have played at fenway, I think they will really take to this hitter's ballpark. You have a short left field, which is a godsend for a team with so much potential offense. Also, the deep right field will allow for the speedy players to collect extra-base hits.

I say zito shuts them down.
