DOG Days of Summer - 6/13
2-2 yesterday for a decent profit. Thought Oakland was going to win that one in the 9th...

    Considering:

    NY Mets +127

    Arizona +205

    Milwaukee +115

    Oakland +105

    Seattle +136

As always, this thread and its discussion is DOGS ONLY!

I don't think anyone can seriously look at MIL right now....they aren't hitting, aren't getting good pitching, no clutch hits, etc....I have a bad feeling Capuanno is going to get lit up tomorrow. Maroth is hardly better but that can make the over appealing.

If I played totals, I'd definitely be on the over in this game.

I'm not certain if I'm going to play Milwaukee yet, I just saw some value as Capuano has pitched better than his numbers show and Maroth is one of the worst pitchers in baseball right now.

Milwaukee also hits lefties very well so I'm considering them, but not yet sold on them...

As bad as Maroth is...his team seems to win almost all his starts. They put up some runs when he pitches. After tonight's dreadful performance by MIL, I can only hope their bats wake up.

I think tonight might have been the wakeup call they needed.

Tomorrow's performance will tell a lot about this Brewer team...

Mets and A's lines both short. Mariners are a terrible situational play, but they do manage to win a lot of games they "shouldn't".
I like the Brewers a pretty good bit tomorrow. I think they are very likely to score 6+ runs, and even a struggling Capuano is better than Maroth.
On the White Sox (see the thread on Kendrick) and Rockies (comical line, Schilling has one good outing against a putrid offense and he is suddenly laying an outrageous price against an only slighty inferior pitcher) as well. If the Astros become the dog, which I semi-expect, I will play them as well.

Got 4 again today. Here goes:

NY Mets +123.....Penny has been pretty good but so has Sosa. I'm kinda bettin' the come on this one because the Mets are pretty good and I think the Dodgers are not as good as they appear. This is kind of a "forces adjusting back to reality" type of play. I always take a look at the Mets at "+" odds. 1 unit.

Texas +142.....Strong indicators, I use, for Texas today against Snell. On the surface, it would appear to be a no-brainer for Snell but I think Texas is just as good as Pittsburgh. With the strong "+" number, it is a play I've gotta make. 1 unit.

Florida +105.....If I had a play of the day, I'll make it this one. As I commented yesterday, for some reason, the Indians are sleepwalking right now. I can't put my finger on why but they just don't seem to be with it. I'm fading Lee once again as his form has been no where close to where it has been in the past. Rolling the dice with BH Kim who is shaky at best but I'm gonna fade Lee and the Indians again and go for the big banger at 5 units.

Kansas City +100.....I'll continue on with KC today. Both teams blow but the Cards have historically struggled in this interleague series. KC seems to play better and it seems to mean something to them when they play STL. This is more of a momentum play than anything. The Cards seem like they are squeezing blood out of a turnip when trying to score. I'll take a gander on Odalis who is brutal in his own right but make this as an anti-Cards combined with momentum play. 1 unit.

Good luck to you, S7. I'll be rootin' your Mets in tonight.

Toronto is my first play of the day. No Bonds. No Molina. Rookie throwing to rookie for SF. I'll take my chances with McGowan who has been decent in his last 4 starts.

I was considering Toronto, but I don't like betting against Lincecum...

you should....Lincecum's team is 3-4 (-0.8 units) when he starts.

Very misleading. The Giants still have a strong pitching advantage in this one. And the home team has won every game which McGowan has started this season. Career road numbers 1-5, 7.71 ERA, 1.80 WHIP, .294 BAA, 40 K, 39 BB. That's the only thing keeping me off under, because I don't see any scenario in which the Jays' watered down lineup scores more than 3.

Win/loss record is the worst statistic to judge a pitcher with because so much is out of his control.

Lincecum's true ERA is almost a run and a half lower than his actual ERA.

                                Senator,

Was your initial post your card or mine? LOL

Reason I say that is because I bet six games today, and your last four plays are among them! I passed on Mets, and my other two plays are Reds and A's (got them at +103, so they qualify for this thread ).
