DOG Days of Summer - 6/12
1-1 yesterday for a decent profit.

    Considering:

    Washington +164

    Oakland +152

    Kansas City +100

    Atlanta +138

Also liked the Dodgers, D'Backs, Rockies, and Padres but not enough to play them.

As always, this thread and its discussion is DOGS ONLY!

The more I look at that WAS-BAL game, the more I think WAS is a pretty good play there. Bowie already pitched decently against them in a Nats win and Cabrera has been kinda shaky at home.

I looked at OAK a bit, but even with the Astros struggling, I have a hard time backing Joe Kennedy who has bad career #s at Minute Maid and surprisingly, the Astros pelt lefties at home. I believe they have won their last 4 homies vs. lefty starters.

As of tonight, I'm leaning toward these three dog plays to try my hand at a system of playing dogs only for a couple days to see how this works: WAS, SD, ARI. I think I'm gonna try four games and see what's what. Maybe SF as the 4th.

I recommend playing an even number of dogs each night. That way, if you go 1-1, 2-2, or 3-3, you make money...

The key is finding underdogs with upside. Most people look at underdogs and say, "That team sucks, why would anyone play them?" Washington, Kansas City, and Tampa Bay are three of the worst teams in the league this season, but because I pick my spots with them, they've been the three most profitable teams for me so far this season.

There really isn't anything that stands out dog wise to me tomorrow so far. The only one that I like as of right now is the Rockies.

Kansas City and Atlanta are my two favorite plays. I LOVE the Royals tomorrow. Just hoping the public will hammer St. Louis so I can get a good price on them tomorrow.

Got 4 today, Senator. Here goes:

Florida +123.....This is more of anti-Indians play. Cleveland seems to be sleep-walking right now. The Indians really can hit but I like Olsen to neutralize the good hitters in their lineup (Hafner, Sizemore, Martinez in keeping him in the park). I'll take a gander with FLA. Olsen has been pretty bad but maybe this is a good spot for him.

Texas +100.....Texas should be able to score tonight and I'm taking a gander with Millwood who has got to be better than he has been. If Millwood's ever going to get better, the Pirates should be a good candidate to get back on track.

San Diego +105.....San Diego's the better team. It may not work out but I feel it's a must to play the clearly better team even if the circumstances are not the best, especially at plus money.

Kansas City +100.....I see that this line started as KC as the fav and was bet down to where KC is even money or better depending upon where you play. I love Bannister and I think of Thompson as being a 5 inning starter. Thompson has done better in recent starts as far as going deeper into games but I think both teams are about the same and Bannister has gotten the job done so I'll ride him again.

One unit on all games. Nothing strikes me as absolutely solid tonight. Good luck to all.

The 4 dogs I like tonight (with short comments)

AZ +163...Webb with this much? I'll bite
Col +165...I know the AL is better, but I always look to some NL teams playing at AL because of DH.
Oak +146 Sea+127...Hot teams..that travel might kill Sea tho.

                  Best of luck to all!!

I like Washington here, it's a typical road game for them they have done so well with all year. They have a no-name starter who may nevertheless have an ok outing, going against a so-so team with a starter who is very vulnerable. I think they'll again be in it the whole way, and could easily pull it out in the end.

But I don't know about KC. You love Bannister, Senator, I know that. I think KC is probably the right side, but I think the value with them is very small.

                        GL everyone.

Barring a complete meltdown by KC, its looking like 2-2 tonight with a decent profit.

Unless, of course, Oakland or Atlanta can get it done late...

I'm staring 1-3 in the face. Seattle bullpen is melting down against the Cubs for me.

1-3 with a +160 winner isn't devastating though, especially for your first day.

Bullpens are the killers of big dogs...

I can't tell you how many games this season I've been absolutely dead on about for 7 or 8 innings only to see an 8th or 9th inning meltdown...

Its pretty much the only downside to betting underdogs...
