    Who knows how too:
    calculate odds in reverse bets.

    simple football or baskets are easy

    1000 wins 4000 both win

    1000 loses 1200 one team wins

    1000 loses 2200 two teams lose

    how does it change for individual odds of -120 +165 +125 -115 etc...

    I have found parlay calculators online but none for reverse bets

    say I bet two dogs at even money, what do I lose or win then, I must win more than 4000 and I must lose less than 1200 for one side and less than 2200 for two sides.

    If any of you can help great

    I was winning parlays and now my price was cut I need to come up with alternative, I have added if bets in place of parlays which is good for the fact I have a chance to split if top side wins and lose less but lost the positive odds gained from parlaying.

    A couple 1000 3 teamers with the right odds picks up 10 times the amount, if you play them for 3000 and win you can really give someone a bad day.

    AC,

    Well, if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will come tell me so but here's how I would calculate parlay odds:

    Lets say you want to do a 3 teamer, lets say Team A is at -150, Team B is at +150, and the Team C is at +200.

    In this example, this is how I figure it:

    Team A = (Odds obtained/(Odds obtained-100)
    = -150/(-150-100)= -150/-250 = 0.6

    Team B = (100/100+Odds obtained)
    = 100/(100+150) = 100/250 = 0.4

    Team C = (100/100+Odds obtained)
    = 100/(100+200) = 100/300 = 0.33333

    Multiply each of these numbers together:

    0.6*0.4*0.33333 = 0.08

    Take that number and do this:

    1/0.08 = 12.5

    So if you bet $100 on this three team parlay and you pulled it out, you would win:

    $100*12.5 = $1250

    You basically have to convert the odds into percentage chance of winning based on the line you have bet. This is how you convert those chances to percentages. When you get an underdog line, you use the formula in the above Team B and Team C example. When you get a favorite line, you use the formula in the above Team A example.

    I believe that this is correct. Please feel free to correct me, anyone, if you do not believe this to be correct. I hope this helps, AC.

      I was just thinking that Ganchrow, I think, has posted a parlay calculator in the past. That may be the better answer instead. Anyone know where that thing is?

        I read this a little closer and realize I have not answered your question. Sorry about that. Let me think about that one.

            OK, I'm officially confused. In your original post, you say that "1000 wins 4000 both win". I have obviously never placed a REVERSE BET before. If I understand this correctly, you are actually placing 2200 to win 4000.

            Why not just do a parlay for $2200 where both teams are @ -110 (football or basketball example) and get 3.645 times your bet and win roughly $8018?

            Please enlighten me. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed so maybe I can learn something here. This seems to be a "glass half empty" type of approach.

              If you go 1-1 in a reverse, or turn, you lose 1.1X. If you lose both, you lose 2.2X. If you win both, you win 4X.
              If you go 1-1 in a parlay, you lose 1.1X. If you lose both, you lose 1.1X. If you win both, you win 2.6X.

                The question was how to calculate Reverse Odds when the odds are other than -110.

                AC,

                A REVERSE is simply 2 IF bets back and forth. So if you have 2 even money shots:

                1000 wins 4000 both win (Team A IF Team B +2000, B IF A +2000)
                1000 loses 1000 one wins (assuming Team A is the winner, Team A IF Team B EVEN, B IF A -1000 - works same if B is the lone winner)
                1000 loses 2000 both lose (Team A IF Team B -1000, B IF A -1000)

                Now let us say that Team A is -120 and Team B is +165:

                1000 wins 5300 both win (Team A IF Team B +2650, B IF A +2650)
                1000 loses 1000 if A wins and B loses (A IF B EVEN, B IF A -1000)
                1000 loses 750 if A loses and B wins (A IF B -1200, B IF A +450)
                1000 loses 2200 if both lose (A IF B -1200, B IF A -1000)

                I hope that makes sense.

                  It does thanks, plan on using dogs only.

                  I never bet them with ML and was hoping they lost less.

                    E

                    Thing is I can't play parlays anymore.

                    roughly every 6 takes back 14 on a two teamer
                    every 6 takes back 30 for 3 teams

                    -110 odds(actually go to -120 on the street)

                    600 = 1400 2team

                    1800 = 4200 2team

                    600 = 3000 3 team

                    1800 = 9000 3 team

                    but with dog odds you can really pick up good money

                      Ebone,

                      The primary reason for playing a $1,100 reverse (actual risk = $2,200) as opposed to a $2,200 parlay is that if you split, you lose the whole 2200 in the parlay, as opposed to 1200 in the reverse.

                        LT,

                        Yeah. I think I get it now. I guess that is why I said this is a "glass half empty" type of approach. Personally, if I were fortunate enough to win both legs of a parlay or REVERSE, then I'd want the maximum odds possible. I'd rather play the parlay but, in AC's case, I'm not sure what the heck I'd do given the crappy parlay odds he's been given.

                        AC,

                        Are you using a local that is cutting you off on parlay odds or is the book offshore? Parlaying underdogs can pay handsomely if you can get the true correct payout. The parlay odds you quoted above really stink so I can see why you are looking for other modes.

                          yes he cut me off
                          I have been getting all the odds I should such as +160,+130,+180 only -110 he changes to -120 which actually makes a big difference.
                          We will say I had some luck on my side for a while and was clipping him pretty good, He cut my price I am allowed to play by a third. My first thought was screw it and play some IF bets which might split granted the top team comes in first and always play the dog as the top play so no juice is added hence costing the same as any parlay I would bet, even money. Thing is I lose the odds on the +150 +160 plays that really breaks the backers back if it wins.

                          I need a new good sportbook. I liked bodog a lot as they were great with payoffs and I had much success with them one night really lucky flyers over buff +350, over 6.5 -110, sixers +4 over scaramento -110 and over sixers 184 -110 4 team parlay picked up plenty.
