Cubs suck, he is in the same situation Dusty was. Plus they both don't seem to manage very well.
They need to address their bullpen, just like every other team in the majors, minus a few.

He won't get fired anytime soon, Coach.
He signed a huge contract and most managers always get at least 2 years to get their "program" up and running.
Look how patient the Cubs were with Dusty Baker...
You are right though, Pinella is a master at doing little with a lot.

The Cubs are already in the "June Swoom" I see, and it's only June 2nd.
There is no way the Cubs will fire him right now after shelling out all that money to hire him during the off season.

Hopefully never, that Cubs team is one of the best moneymakers.

In his defense, he did do a lot with a little in 1990, using a deep bullpen and some speed to go all the way and shock the A's that year who were supposed to be world beaters.
Can't really imagine that he is the problem on Chicago's north side this season.

He'll get a minimum of 2 full seasons to turn that team around before management even contemplates giving him the boot.
I think the better question is, when does Lou quit? I'm sure it won't come this year, but Piniella looks completely and utterly frustrated with the team on the field, and also the organization.

No chance Pinella gets fired. If he does, Yankees would probably fire Torre and pick up Pinella.

Pinella puts too much pressure on his players and that is why his teams always lose.

The pressure of making your team play over .500 must unbearable for the players.

Lou will probably last the season unless the management gets tired of his pissed off old guy routine, but you kinda know you're getting that when you hire the dude. I say he quits before he gets fired.

It is highly unlikely he gets fired. Nothing's impossible though.

Lou is a frustrated old man that players cannot relate to anymore plus he is a compulsive gambler which does reflect his mood swings,
