    Looking at tomorrow's lines
Based on what I see, I like

Joe Saunders of LAA +160 RL over Steve Trachsel. The angels team hits trachsel extremely well.

Odalis Perez KC +101 over Jackson TB

    What do you guys think?

Tomorrow's card looks horrible. Only 3-4 dogs catch my eye. I think the Brewers and Angels are good chalk wagers.

I like the Braves again Saturday. Cubbies are a mess right now, and with only a small pitching disadvantage, I'll take the far superior team at a generous price.

I might be crazy, but I also like the Astros tomorrow. They're playing terrible, but Sampson has been relatively consistent and Kip Wells should be the cure for Houston's struggling offense.

The Saunders game is a tough one. He can be good at home, but he was not too good in the minors this year. And Trachsel, he just keeps on doing better than he "should", game after game, year after year, like a poor man's Jamie Moyer.

I'm not sure if the RL gives any extra value. The Angels will get a lot of one-run home wins, especially in games like these.

And KC, first of all, they're around +110, +115 right now. But I don't see a lot of value with them, although there may be some. Yes Perez rates more reliable than Jackson right now, but TB could well come back against the KC pen even if he leaves them behind a bunch of runs. I think if it goes down to close to even money, I'd go with TB.

rjt, yeah the Atl/Cubs game is a funny one. The Cubs epitomize "underachievement" in baseball. They should be winning much more than they are. They have been this way for a while now. I'll wait to see the lineups, weather, and line movements before I decide on this one, but you're right, you need to be damn sure you know what you're doing if you're going to take the Cubs as a big favorite right now.

I like the Astros too, although I'd change "Kip Wells should be the cure for Houston's struggling offense" to: "Kip Wells could be the cure for Houston's struggling offense". I don't think anything can qualify as a likely cure for the Houston offense right now, only a possible one. Wells has shut them down already this year, and he could do it again. I'd take the RL instead of the ML for these reasons.
