Picks from the Previews 06-01 (TOTAL +5.68 Units)
There are worse things out there than a split. The Fish were in the game the whole way but just came up short, while the Mariners took a big lead early and never looked back. Another day in the black, albeit slightly, is still better than the red. On to today’s games:

    YESTERDAY: +0.16 Units

    ATL at CHC

"It has been a little bit frustrating," said Cubs manager Lou Piniella, whose team has lost eight of its last 10 and is 10-15 at home.” And “Atlanta, second in the NL East, is 15-12 on the road.” Not sure that I understand why the Cubs are such heavy chalk today. I’ll give the Braves a shot, with or without Chipper.

PICK: ATL +159 for 1 unit

Zambrano is the only reason they get that price even though he's been off for the most part this season, his past rep alone will get people to bet on him. I happen to like the Over in this one.

      NYY at BOS

Wang “has struggled in four career starts at Fenway, going 1-2 with a 6.08 ERA.” And “Overall this year, the Red Sox (36-16) have won six of nine meetings with the Yankees en route to baseball's best record.” Yet tonight they are dogs… I will take a dog like this any day of the week.

PICK: BOS +106 for 1 Unit

      CHW at TOR

"Obviously we're not playing the way we should be playing and I blame myself," Guillen said before Thursday's loss. "If Kenny (general manager Kenny Williams) and Jerry (owner Jerry Reinsdorf) don't believe I handle this team or we don't win the way we should, I've got to be fired. You're hired to be fired. If they think I'm not doing what I'm supposed to do, they have the right to do that." What? WHAT? Oh Ozzie… “Javier Vazquez (2-3, 4.50 ERA) hopes to end a seven-start winless streak when he takes the mound for the White Sox” Burnett “has been particularly good at Rogers Centre, going 3-0 with a 2.28 ERA in four outings while walking 11 and striking out 30.”

PICKS: TOR -130 for 0.65 Units and TOR -1.5 +162 for 0.35 Units

      TEX at SEA

"I guess it's the comfort from knowing that when Kevin gets the ball, you know you've got a really good chance of being in that game." Really? You mean that 6.62 ERA is comforting? Seattle has been tearing the cover off the ball as of late, don’t see that changing tonight. If this play is a rookie mistake then so be it… but I have no faith in the Rangers right now…

      PICK: SEA -1.5 +132 for 1 Unit
