Yanks up by two, top of 9. Two outs, A-Rod on second, someone else on first, not sure who.
Posada hits an easy pop up to third, where the Jays have a rook by the name of Clark (I think) playing, straight up from AA.
Anyway, pop up goes to Clark, and A-Rod calls for the ball as he is behind the rook on his way to third. Clark thinks it's McDonald, his shortstop calling him off, so he does the right thing and backs off, fully expecting McDonald to snag the popup. Except not, falls for a single and the Yanks end up putting up 4 in the 9th.
A guy that has all of the God given talent in the world playing ball like a third grader. This is the Big Show, not sandlot.
That guy is an all-around POS. Yankees will go absolutely nowhere while he wears the pinstripes. Can you imagine a guy like Jeter pulling something so juvenille? No class. I hope his soon to be ex-wife takes him to the cleaners.... loser

Is this surprising? A-Rod is a classless punk. Its no surprise with this guy around the Yankees are 13.5 games behind the Sox and out of the race before June. No matter how good of a ballplayer he is, the Yankees will never get it done when he is on the team.

Are you serious? I gotta watch the replay. That's some funny ass shit. Bush league smush league. That rules if it works. Why don't you ridicule the doosh on TOR who fell for it.
Saw the replay, the guy on TOR is a pussy if he's whining about that. Catch the ball.

I've actually always liked A-rod...kind of surprised he would do something like this. Perhaps he is trying to steer the media attention onto something else other than his off-field escapades.

First rate classless play.....you don't do that at any level. But what makes it even worse is his blatant lying about it after the game. ARod is quoted as saying "I just said, 'Hah!' That's it," But anyone who has watched the replay has seen that it clearly shows him saying "Mine" as he was right behind Clark. At least be man enough to admit what you said and don't be even more of a weasal by lying about it too. It's too bad they aren't playing again on thursday because you know where that first pitch would be going when he stepped to the plate. That is of course assuming he didn't end up with the "flu" before the game.

This is hilarious. Bush league for sure, but still funny. Yankees will do anything to secure a win! I think ARod was just trying to save Cashman his job...

I couldn't tell that's what he said, but even if he did - the 3B is clueless. You get called off with an I GOT IT. A one syllable word like MINE used to call someone off is just asking for trouble. I think it's funny that people are making a big deal out of it.

The replay that is being shown in toronto is that of a close up of ARod as he rounds the bases.......this replay only shows his face and nothing else and that is where it is clear that he says "mine" while behind Clark. The play is illegal, and the play is bush league even if it wasn't. And definately violates the "code" of baseball. You might find 6year olds making this play once before getting reprimanded by their coach in little league........but than again we are talking about ARod so it might be one and the same here.

I was watching the game on Rogers Sportsnet when I posted. The worst part about the entire ordeal was the little smug smirk on his face... in his mind he was actually proud of his 'accomplishment'...
could you imagine Jeter doing that? or Posada? Never in a billion years.
