Hi All,
Long time lurker first time poster...
Lately I've been doing my handicapping and then reading over the pre-game previews, seeing if something there supports or disagrees with my analysis... when I find agreements, I place a play on them, with varied success. Here's what I found today:
PIT at CIN
"We're swinging the bats," Reds manager Jerry Narron said. "We did a great job offensively. We just need to get good pitching at the start of the game." Yeah, and today you rely on Kyle Lohse (1-6, 5.31) to get that for you. I think not.
Pick: PIT -1.5 +146 for 1 unit
STL at COL
"Colorado (23-27) has relied on pitching that has posted an impressive 1.76 ERA during its five-game winning streak" and "Francis is 3-1 with a 2.27 ERA in five career starts versus the Cardinals, holding them to a .178 batting average." That 20 cent takeback represents nice value on the under.
Pick: STL/COL Under 9.5 +120 for 1 unit
NYY at TOR
"Because of off days, DeSalvo hasn't started since he gave up four runs over 3 1-3 innings in a 4-1 loss against the White Sox on May 17. The right-hander made an appearance in relief in Friday's 10-6 loss to the Angels, but failed to retire any of the four batters he faced." and "Toronto has won five of its last six home games as it welcomes New York to the Rogers Centre for the first time this season. The Blue Jays won five of nine games at home against the Yankees in 2006." I find some nice value on the home dog here tonight, but will cover myself a little with +1.5 runs as well.
Picks: TOR +135 for 0.5 units, TOR +1.5 -114 for 0.57 units
DET at TB
Re: Durbin "After struggling in his first three starts, the right-hander is 4-0 with a 2.53 ERA in his past six outings."Edwin Jackson (0-6, 7.78) makes his first appearance since May 18 for the Devil Rays." Huge pitching mismatch in my opinion, laying a little lumber but it should be worth it.
Pick: DET -135 for 1.35 units
Good luck to all
