Personally, I think it is great news. You know Steinbrenner will be anxious to one-up this move. Beckett has always been a vastly overrated pitcher, and injury-plagued. Look at the pitchers who have success in that stupid stadium they play in. Wakefield is their best pitcher, and off-speed pitchers traditionally fare better than power pitchers there. It appears Lowell is spent, but I wouldn't count him out. Also, as someone said, Manny is gone, according to David Ortiz, and common sense.

You might be right, Razz, but Beckett's been a Yankee killer and I just don't see anything available to The Boss to let him one-up this one. We'll have to wait and see I guess.
