Goes five innings, giving up six earned runs and STILL reduces his season ERA.
He makes Dice K and Clemens look like absolute bargains.

I'd probably most likely chose Pags to jack off too.

I just find it unbelievable why a team would pay $9 million for a crap pitcher presumably on the basis on a few decent play-off games. If I owned a baseball team, I could do a lot more with $9 million.

The sick part about Weaver is that there were like 3 teams trying really hard to sign him this off season.
Another thing that I found really assuming is the fact that Weaver said in an interview that whoever offered him a 2 year contract he would sign with them. The funny part was that the Cardinals offered him the two years, and he signed with Seattle for one year.
Now wouldn't you figure he would pitch lights out consdering he's now in his contract year again?
I swear if I didn't know better he was actually trying to lose, because I remember last year that when he was here playing in St.Louis they kept saying he was throwing very good pitches in the strike zone during simulated type situations. However, once he started a game he just fell back into his old routine letting hitters get a head in the count.

I think he will be forced to, because I doubt anyone signs him next year.

SEATTLE, Wash. -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Bill Bavasi announced today that the Mariners placed right-handed pitcher Jeff Weaver on the 15-day disabled list. Left-handed pitcher Ryan Rowland-Smith has been recalled from Triple-A Tacoma to take Weaver's roster spot.
When asked what the problem was with Weaver, Bavasi replied "He's a steaming pile of crap."
