It all depends on your needs I guess.

I would not give up Santana, but if the staff is loaded and you need some hitting, than it is a good move.

Both guys will get their numbers by years end.

Both guys are usually within the first 7 players chosen in the first round.

You have to question Larussa's lineup card on a daily basis really. The reason I even say that is because, he is not putting any type of threat in front or behind Albert.

        Think about this...

How can you produce at the numbers he puts up on a yearly basis if you know your not going to get anything good to hit.

I feel it's a steal for the gentlemen who gets Santana in this trade.

With the way Pujols has been performing, Id sang up Santana in that trade.

But I'm sure Pujols will get his numbers.

Its all about needs really in that trade.

I think Dan hit the nail on the head here. The problem is not Pujols.....the problem is that the Cards lineup is just that bad. They are struggling every night to score runs. Pujols really is a great player but he can only do so much. Lets say he does go on a streak. He's only going to give you AVG and HRs because there will be no one on base to get RBIs and he won't score because no one can get him in.

In my opinion, I think the STL situation is dire. I think its a tossup between who is worse at this time: Cards or Nationals.

I'd rather have Santana, not because Pujols is any less of a player he used to be, but rather that his team simply can't put anyone on base nor provide literally any protection for him behind his at bat. He will see less pitches this year, because his team won't knock him in. In addition, he won't get as many RBIs because his offence is just absolutely awful this year.

welp, sounds like i shot myself in the foot on this one. if john maine, peavy and oswalt continue the way they are i will be just fine, but if one of them drops off i mighta made a big mistake

Santana started out slowly last year also and he ended up destroying his opponents. Pujols started fast and ended up slow. tough call since half the 1st basemen out there are doing better than pujols. My roto pitchers are dead last in whip and ERA and I thought I would have the best. I drafted santana, carpenter(sigh), glavine, harang, james, owens, reyes(the TB closer not the sl. louis pig), street, wainright, wheeler and gordon. I got killed because first 2 weeks I had julio and his 50+ ERA. My team ERA is 4.442 and my team whip is 1.418- all dead last yet I am in 2nd now in the roto league. If I was ranked even in the middle I would be in 1st.
