I haven't fully vetted this game yet, but I know Oakland's bullpen is a bit extended right now, I think all of their top guys have pitched in 4 of the last 5 days. That could make a difference, especially since Street seems to be more vulnerable when he is less rested. The Yanks' pen I believe is not as overworked. Pettitte may well be able to keep pace with Harden, and if he does, the Yanks at plus odds might be a good bet. But again, I havent fully vetted the game yet, I'll wait to see the lineups and weather as well.

Hate the play. Yankees are a small favorite here.

I bet Oakland at -110. This is a great April pitchers spot, with a play on (Harden, 10-4) opposing a play against (Pettitte 5-10). This is the first such matchup that has come up this month, based on the pitchers I listed in my April Pitchers article.

            Dan,

A lot of that came when he was younger (i.e. better).

No, he was on way the wrong side and hit a 500000-to-one shot to get lucky.

I didn't say right side, I said good side.

I'm talking on the result. Not the luck factor.

Kinda weird to see the real number "#42" blow this game in this fashion on Jackie Robinson day.

I am a believer in the right side/wrong side debate in sports gambling.

However, for baseball it is less extreme since all aspects of the game are factored in (i.e. starting pitching, hitting, fielding, bullpen, manager, etc...). And since all you have to do is pick the winner, bad beats are less likely to occur as in college basketball or football as for example if you take Michigan +3.5 at home against Ohio St this past March and they lost by 4....MICH was clearly the right side of that game since they covered 59:40 seconds of that game. George Mason/VCU conference championship where GM was the right side but failed to cover.

I am hesitatnt to say NYY were the right side but they certainly should have won.

Anyway, this is gambling...shit happens. Got to go with the flow and move on...

Irrelevant of who was betting on what, I loved watching Rivera blow it in the 9th. Absolutely loved it.
