Anyone think TOR is worth a shot?
N.R. has pitched well so far...but TOR hits lefties real well and this is the last game of a 10 game road trip for DET who has already secured a winning trip (6 of 9 so far) so you wonder if they may take it easy. Towers is not great, in fact one of the worse pitchers you can back in MLB (units wise) but historically N.R. is a tough luck loser who almost always pitches well enough to win but his team rarely gets him much run support (the opposite of an Ervin Santana). I am wondering if Leyland has a makeshift lineup on getaway day today knowing they play tomorrow.

    Thoughts?

plus the line opened up -104/-104 so there is no value with DET anymore and only value with TOR now...

I think they are double B. The Jays seem to hit Nate pretty good. The problem is that Towers is 2-13 on Sundays.

BBD....trends on pitchers records on days of the week are among the most irrelevant out there. If i am not mistaken, N.R.'s sunday performance is below average.

I think TOR already has a major advantage having seen N.R. already once this year.

All things being equal, TOR at home, DET on the last day of a monster 10 day road trip, a dramatic win yesterday.....I think taking a chance with TOR today is worth the risk. I'll also be on SEA...

I can't say I blame you one bit for taking the Jays in this game double B.

          BOL to you today sir.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but yes I think Toronto was worth a shot at plus odds, I took them for a little bit, actually got them at +118.

Towers obviously has the potential to get shelled but also to pitch a decent game, especially after last night's dramatic back and forth game.

Regarding N.R., he has been notoriously worse in day games than he has in night games. The fact that this game is indoors might mitigate that somewhat, but people's varying circadian rhythms are real, and in the case of N.R., looking to go against him in day games is I think a legitimate thing to do.

I didn't like this game when it was even, but at modest plus odds I think Toronto has some value.

                  Nice 2-1.

I know, it should of been 3-0, but 2-1 is still a winning day.

Thanks Onlooker....I'll gladly take 2-1 any day of the week. I was actually at a local film festival in town here so I missed the OAK/NYY and TX/SEA games but I just heard what happened....

Having Josh Towers pitch nearly 8 innings of 0 earned runs and having Mariano Rivera blow a 2 run lead with 2 outs and nobody on gives you an idea just how sharp you have to be to win money in baseball.....

LOL I remember Josh Towers guy was the worst pitcher ever for the Jays. I cringed every pitch he threw down the pipe.

                                  Jays

The stars appear almost perfectly aligned here for TOR
Jays get past Verlander with an uplifting 11 inning home victory.
Tigers couldn't sustain their recent roll with their ace - on road it's 1 W in L4.
Figaro going today - just up from minors - 1st start of the year with only 2 relief app.
The Long Ball Jays/Bautista crushing it at home - 96 HRs in 47 home games (W's in 30/47).
Bautista, with 27 bombs at home, has homered in last 2 games and 22 of last 47 overall.
Morrow going for 5 straight Ws - struck out 12 Yanks over 6 inn on Monday.
TOR 12 games over .500 vs RHers. RL at even money.
