Morrison Twist, Part 2: +40 units in 3 days
    Bankroll: $4,000
    System Plays: 4 concurrent
Objective: Min. $1,600 profit by Sunday

Last weekend, I jacked with three Morrison system plays and earned a verified 33 units in three days. This weekend, we have four Morrison plays and I hope to f 'em up enough to win 7 times within 4 JM chases, plus one or two juicy little parlays. My goal is to win 40 $40 units by Sunday.

    Official Plays from JM:
Milwaukee [A] (this is a Money Line bet)

    Unofficial Plays from JM:
San Diego [A] (this is a +1.5 Run Line bet)
Cincinnati [A] (this is a +1.5 Run Line bet)
Toronto [A] (this is a +1.5 Run Line bet)

1.) Milwaukee over the Pirates on the ML. This is the only official JM play this weekend. I am playing it straight (for now). JM plays hit with remarkable efficiency on the A bet, and I ain't betting against it. It should be noted that every square in the world is betting on Pittsburgh as a "sure underdog" in this game. Big mistake. The money line is -135 or more for a reason.

2.) San Diego over Florida on the RL +1.5. Once again, every square is gonna be on Florida in this game. The Fish have everything to lose and the Pads have nothing to gain. But the pitching match-up is a toss-up and Florida is 4-6 in their last 10, while S.D. is 5-5. I will run with this chase until San Diego wins, and for this first game I'm laying the juice on the RL.

3.) Cincinnati over the Dodgers on the RL +1.5. My favorite unofficial series. Cincinnati will win one of these three games. I'm not bothering with the RL, either. Straight up on the ML until they win. And as soon as they do, I'm on the Dodgers. This has great potential to turn into a v3 play by Saturday.

4.) Toronto over Boston on the RL +1.5. This is the worst unofficial bet of the three. I am not only counterbetting the play, I'm chasing Boston on the -1.5 RL until they crush Toronto in one of the next three games. Then I might consider taking the Blue Birds with Halladay on the mound on Sunday (the kind of big money game he needs for his suddenly failing rep).

If Milwaukee wins on the A or B bet, I'll think about Pitt on Sunday with Ohlendorf on the hill. If San Diego wins on the A bet, Florida won't be an official v3 bet, but I will switch over to them anyway. But I will be chasing the Padres until they win. If Cincinnati wins on the A bet, the Dodgers will definitely be a v3 bet and I will be on it. If I lose my counterplay on Boston on the A bet, they will be a v3 bet in the second game anyway and I will bet it heavy. I am on Boston heavy in these first two games no matter what happens.

    My wagers for Friday:
$300 to win 219 on Milwaukee ML -137
$300 to win 191 on San Diego +1.5 RL -157
$300 to win 525 on Cincinnati ML +175
    $330 to win 300 on Boston -1.5 RL -110

In addition to these plays, I am going to chase a 2-team parlay on the most high-odds bets on my card, whether they are ML or RL.

    My parlay for Friday:
$60 to win 352 on Cincinnati ML and Milwaukee RL -1.5

For better or worse, the dice have been rolled.

Good luck to us Nick. Unfortunately I am only playing the unofficials today to win .5 unit instead of my regular 1 unit. Im hoping Sacramento Monarchs pull through tonight!!!

Like your reasoning again Nick. Back from book before I checked this thread. Had read JM email before he added Toronto so made no bet on TOR. Maybe a good thing because I Like your resoning on BOS so will tail you there. Have MIL and SDG same as you. However I counterbet CIN for tonight. Figure LAD will win at least one if not all of this series so will chase LAD until it wins. Need to run back down to book BOS. Only 5 minute drive. GL tonight.

Good start to the weekend with a net profit of $957, putting my bankroll at $4,957. The shame of it is that JM's play on Toronto came up a winner with the +1.5 RL and I bet against it (like last week, which I also lost but made up later). But that's okay, I will still ride with Boston on both the ML and the RL. I'm risking a little less than I planned because Boston actually won the game yesterday which means they are not a v3 play today.

Florida is not a v3 play today either, narrowly missing the RPI filter, but I am betting on them anyway, though only on the RL. The Dodgers are a v3 play and I will ride them as I said I would. But I am also hedging the Dodgers and Florida games with a couple parlays.

Milwaukee won the official play already and they look good today, too, but I'm not risking anything on that game except in one of the hedge parlays (actually going with Pitt to boost the payoff).

                      My wagers for Saturday:
                      $300 to win 261 on Florida RL -1.5 -115
                      $366 to win 270 on L.A. Dodgers ML -170 ($170) and RL -1.5 -115 ($196)
                      $365 to win 340 on Boston ML -165 ($165) and RL -1.5 +120 ($200)

I'm hedging the Florida and Dodgers games because I don't fully trust either team to snap out of their funk. I'm tossing in Pitt on one of the following parlays to boost the payoff. If both Florida and the Dodgers lose today, the first parlay below will help ease the pain. If Pitt somehow comes through against Gallardo as well, I will actually make more on my hedge parlays than winning all three games above. If only one dog wins, I'll lose the parlays but will make up for that loss with profit from the straight bet.

                      My parlays for Saturday:
$40 to win 276 on S.D. and Cincinnati MLs.
$40 to win 908 on S.D., Cincinnati and Pitt MLs.

So, clearly, I want Florida and the Dodgers to either both win or both lose, not split. And go Pittsburgh if they both lose!

For better or worse, the dice have been rolled.

$40 to win 908 on S.D., Cincinnati and Pitt MLs. / loser -$40

Those pesky Padres upset the Fish again and those damned Red Sox didn't bring in Papelbon soon enough to save the RL against the Blue Jays, nearly blowing a gem by Clay Buchholz. The Red Sox split bet prevented me from winning $230 and left me with a $210 loss, putting my bankroll at $4,747. I'm still over $800 short of my goal of a +40 unit weekend, so it's back to the books for me.

All four JM plays have been played out now that the Dodgers won the v3 bet, but Florida is still due to take the quasi-v3 play against the Padres. But the Padres Mat Latos can hurl it and I'm not sure Florida has the heart to pull this third game out against the no-quit Padres.

I said I would bet on the Red Sox until they won the RL against the Blue Jays, and that has cost me two days in a row. Can I expect them to pull it off tomorrow when they go up against Roy Halladay? What about the Reds going up against Kershaw of the Dodgers? Arroyo has pitched well for the Reds, but have Dodgers resurrected their bats after crushing the Reds today?

I'll need a little time to figure this out and see how the lines move. Stay tuned.

                                My wagers for Sunday:
$200 to win 290 on Cincinnati ML +145
                                $300 to win 450 on Florida RL -1.5 +150
$200 to win 240 on Boston ML +120
                                $330 to win 390 on Milwaukee ML -120 ($180) and RL -1.5 +160 ($150)

                                My parlay for Sunday:
$40 to win 204 on Milwaukee RL and S.D. ML

Partially hedging the bet on the Fish with a parlay that counts on the Brewers to have a good day again Ohlendorf. Counting on Arroyo to continue pitching well and pitch well against the Dodgers (no guarantee of that, but getting those odds on Arroyo is worth a shot). I thought about going RRL on Boston to get some really juicy odds, but I'd be happy with another 1-run win against Halladay.

I'm not in love with any of these bets, but rolling the dice on plus odds to achieve my goal, or at least keep the roll healthy for the rest of the week.

I did not include my separate parlays on Mets, White Sox and Nats because they are a real long shot and unrelated to these series, but they are out there and could help my bankroll immensely if they hit. For that matter, I'm also heavy on the Connecticut Sun +7 as a JM C bet.

I won 7 times on 4 JM system plays, plus a sweet parlay. I couldn't be happier with my weekend! Now if only the Sun will win that C bet tonight, I can push my bankroll past 6 grand after being at just $3,000 10 days ago!

Well, I am betting WAY more than the recommended risk for system plays, but I'm also not doubling up because I am switching teams and so forth. But by betting an average of 5% of my roll on straight bets, I am not too far out of the realm of normal--yet aggressive--wagering. I bet aggressively because of the success of the system plays.

Obviously, it was critical getting the Milwaukee and Boston sweeps and the Marlins RL winner to make my goal, and they were not system plays at all, but my twist on the system.

I won 7 times on 4 JM system plays, plus a sweet parlay. I couldn't be happier with my weekend! Now if only the Sun will win that C bet tonight, I can push my bankroll past 6 grand after being at just $3,000 10 days ago!
